Parent Teacher Association

The Parent Teacher Association of Holy Family Convent- Bambalapitiya, works to achieve the aims and objectives of the association which is to enable parental participation to act in an advisory capacity to the school administration in order to work together for the development, progress and welfare of the students of the school. PTA has become the forum for discussion between school administration, the teachers and parents to co-operate in furthering the educational, religious, social and cultural activities of the school.
Membership of the PTA is open to all parents of children currently studying at Holy Family Convent and to the teachers, who by virtue of their designation as members of the academic staff.
PTA also works with the Welfare Association, the Past Pupils’ Association and the Association of Past Teachers, when necessary, to function and to meet the needs of the school.
The 45th Annual General Meeting of the Parent Teachers Association of Holy Family Covent – Bambalapitiya was held on 24th June 2022 at 6.00 p.m. in The Green Hall. The meeting was called to order by the president of the association Rev. Sister Principal Ranjanie Silva and the Annual Report, and the audited accounts presented by the Assistant Secretary.

PTA Subcommittees

Subcommittee on Health

Ensures a clean and healthy environment for the students. The subcommittee also creates awareness in educating them on maintaining healthy lifestyle. Subcommittee takes in charge scheduling fumigation, weekly dengue checks and helps in organizing health camps in school.

Subcommittee on Security

Mainly focuses on the safety of the students and teachers during peak hours. Advice and assists the school authorities on security needs by reviewing strategies with the assistance of the welfare committee and provide support in terms of security when needed at special events at school.

Subcommittee on Sports

The objective of the Subcommittee of Sports is to develop sports in school and to provide back-up services at all times to achieve and sustain high standards in sports and to assist the school’s Sports Council in decisions taken.

Subcommittee on Academic Assistance

The Committee Provides necessary assistance to the school authorities and the teaching staff to maintain academic standards. The subcommittee takes charge of organizing the life education program for the post O/L Students.

Subcommittee on Extra-curricular Activities

The objective of the Subcommittee on Extra-curricular activities is to encourage the students to take part in non-academic activities which will help in building personality, character and confidence and assist in the moulding of young women able to face the expectations of a modern society.

Subcommittee on Special Projects

The objective of the Subcommittee on Special Project’s is to encourage, organize and assist in traditional Familian events which may not essentially fall within the school curriculum and to inspire and carry out new projects necessary for the progress of the school. On such projects the subcommittee works closely with the Welfare Association and the PPA, assisting in many ways like in the printing, publishing and documenting, in media coverage and in providing security.

Subcommittee on IT

Ensures the service to the school in website development and provides Continuous evaluation of the ICT infrastructure of the school for the smooth operation with the changes when and if is required.
