The Gavel Club at Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, was inaugurated in 2013 and is dedicated to uplifting the public speaking and leadership skills of students. The club operates with the main objective of enhancing communication abilities and fostering confidence among its members. The teachers-in-charge of the Gavel Club are Mrs. Rozanne Jarkie Abdon for the Junior Club and a dedicated team for the Senior Club. The Gavel Club provides a supportive environment where students can practice their speaking skills, engage in debates, and participate in various activities that promote leadership qualities. The motto of the club, inspired by Tony Robbins, emphasizes the importance of giving more to the audience than they expect, which reflects the club's commitment to excellence in public speaking.
